Qurbani of Eid ul Adha or Bakra Eid in Pakistan

Eid ul Adha is the second grand festival of the Muslim world after the Eid ul Fitar. Eid ul Adha has few other names in Pakistan which are Bari Eid (grand Eid) or Bakra Eid
(goat’s festival). The fact is that it is the symbol of sacrifice. A sacrifice (qurbani) which was offered by the Hazrat Ibrahim A.S in the shape of his son Hazrat Ismail (A.S) is the main reason behind this event. He was the forefather of last Messenger of God, Hazrat Muhammad B.B.U.. In a repeated dream he saw that Allah is asking to sacrifice his most lovely thing and he full filled the requirement and offered his son for that purpose. So it is a religious event for the Muslim world.
To remember that great sacrifice of Hazrat IbrahimA.S the Muslim nations offer the animal’s sacrifices (qurbani) every year. Any Halal animal in Islam could be use for this purpose. In Pakistan most of the peoples sacrifice a goat so it is called as a “Bakra Eid” too. “Bakra” is the Urdu meaning of a goat.
Eid ul Adha comes after the small Eid or Eid ul Fiter in Islamic calendar. In the month of Zil-Hajj, when Muslims offer the Hajj prayer, this event arrives. This sacrifice is one of the main elements in the Hajj and your Hajj is supposed to be incomplete without it.
You got this point that sacrifice (qurbani) is the main theme of Eid ul Adha or Bakra Eid. This anticipation is not like the Small Eid or Eid ul Fiter. Preparations are also not of that level and it is celebrated up to 3 days. All your vacations of this Eid ends while working or dealing with the meat and one may not get some extra time for outing with family or friends.
The enthusiasm or happiness of the children in this event is up to watching a slaughtered animal and that’s it. On this occasion the elders tell them about the history of this sacrifice. After the work the time arrives to distribute the meat in to 3 parts for you, family with friends and for the poor. Equally distribution is the main and most necessary element of the sacrifice.
In Pakistan the Eid ul Adha or Bakra Eid is celebrated with great enthusiasm. Peoples celebrate it in a great way with allot of happiness and satisfaction. In the year 2012 it is coming in the month of October.
