The Oscar-winning actress is up for the role of an American woman assigned to help him and a group of other lost boys, reports US trade publication Variety.
Philippe Falardeau is directing the screenplay from award-winning writer Margaret Nagle.
Margaret was honoured by the Writer’s Guild of America for her work on American telefilm Warm Springs and American television series Boardwalk Empire while Monsiuer Lazhar helmer Philippe was among Variety’s Ten Directors to Watch list last year.
A production schedule has yet to be released.
Reese is already booked through 2014, according to IMDb.com.
The actress most recently completed work on crime drama Devil’s Knot, scheduled for release later this year.
She has also been cast in forthcoming dramas Big Eyes and Wish List, and romantic comedy Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus, based on the best-selling 1992 book by relationship counselor John Gray.
